A Crémant de Bourgogne co-op to be thankful for!

Bailly Lapierre is a cooperative (aka co-op) of winegrowing families, who in 1972 came together along with others to create an "appellation d’origine contrôlée" (A.O.C.): Crémant de Bourgogne, a French sparkling made in the traditional method. Today, they continue to produce enchanting sparkling wines brimming with culture, history and heart.

Director Sylvain Martinand shared how Bailly Lapierre marked 50 years of fine bubbles by honouring its collective of winegrowers.

"In 2022, we celebrated our winery’s 50th anniversary. To mark this historic occasion, we created a special cuvée of Crémant de Bourgogne – a blend of 36 vintages from Bailly Lapierre!

Through this cuvée, we brought together the work of several generations of winemakers in a single wine. It's a rare opportunity for a family to drink a heritage cuvée, where the wine of grandfather and granddaughter harmonise together in a glass.

We made this special wine only for Bailly Lapierre’s 56 winegrowers... which makes it very unique. The cuvée is currently ageing on lees, and is expected to be ready the beginning of next year – then the members of our cooperative will be able to taste it!"
